Mounia Akl is a Lebanese director and writer living between Beirut and New York. Mounia holds a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from ALBA, Lebanon and a MFA in Directing from Columbia University, New York. Her short film, Submarine, was in the Official Selection of the 69th Cannes Film Festival. After Submarine, Mounia was chosen by the Directors' Fortnight to represent Lebanon at the 70th Cannes Film festival as part of the Factory project (Lebanon). Mounia is currently developing new projects, in TV and Film, one of which being her second feature film, Love at last sight , set in the US.
